Business/Partners honours Zululand’s exceptional Achiever Mr. Musa Myeni

At an event held on 18 March 2015, Business/Partners honoured one of Zululands exceptional achievers, Mr Musa Myeni. Born and bred in Zululand, Mr Myeni has made some ground breaking investments in this region and the latest being the establishment of Meet Mekaar Resorts which is situated in Umfolozi. The Resort at its peak during construction phase employed 220 people, this was over a 3 year period and currently employs 76 people on a permanent basis.

This seasoned entrepreneur has taken what was an ordinary lodge and transformed into an iconic ecostic function and wedding venue. In attendance was the President of the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mrs Judith Nzimande who in her message of support for visionaries of Zululand like Mr Myeni spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship in growing the economy and the role that visionaries play in transforming the landscape of the country.

Support from family and financial institutions is paramount to the realisation of these dreams.

Mr Myeni in his response acknowledged the role of his wife and family through this journey. Asked by Judith Nzimande how he would describe his success, Mr Myeni responded, “Its courage, bordering on stupidity and supported by wisdom.” Musa also spoke very fondly of his staff and his team at The Myeni Group. The Group currently employs 2116 permanent staff nationally and the philosophy shared by the leader and all the staff is that each employee treats their area of responsibility as their own business. The event was well attended by businessmen and women as well as family and business associates.
